FEAST OF THE PASCHAL LAMB
April 1, 2010
2:00 PM

DAVAO MASONIC CENTER
V. Mapa Street, Davao City

FEAST OBLIGATORY
TO ALL KNIGHTS ROSE CROIX

Chapters of Rose Croix observes this beautiful and symbolic celebration of the Feast of the Paschal Lamb as a memorial service honoring our Brethren who have passed to their eternal reward during the preceding year.  In spirit, we seem to sense their presence of the Mystic Banquet as we seek to strengthen the ties of brotherly love, which bind our hearts in holy remembrance.

In the fellowship of kindred minds, we meet to express our faith as symbolically we break the bread and drink the wine of fraternal love, becoming aware once more that the only hope of a better world still abides in the simple command of our Great Exemplar, “Love One Another.”

The ordinance establishing the Feast of the Paschal Lamb dates back to the Old Testament narrative: “And this day shall be unto you a memorial; and ye shall keep it a Feast to the Lord throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a Feast, an ordinance forever.”

The Feast of the Paschal Lamb performers for this year are:

Greetings, Brethren!!!

Last Sunday, March 7, Beacon Lodge No. 213 led the Masonic District RXI-A to a Family Fun Run.  It was well attended by brethren, sisters, sons, daughters, and friends of Masons.  The event had several categories from 3k, 1.5k and 750m Run/Walk for all ages.  It was held at the Rancho Palos Verdes (RPV) Countryclub, Ma-a, near Crocodile Park.  Datu Bago Lodge No. 197 handed the participants some energy drink courtesy of VW Abelardo "Billy" L. Aportadera, Jr.

After the Fun Run, we had Fellowship with families and friends, where we enjoyed lugaw and hard-boiled eggs courtesy of Podomo Lodge No. 294.  This was then followed by raffle give-aways, courtesy of Beacon Lodge No. 213.  Bethel No. 6 Job's Daughters International (JDI) led by their Honored Queen, Kim Bermudez also sold cake raffle tickets as fund raising for their 13th JDI Annual Session, which will be held here in Davao City on April 30 to May 2.  The drawing of the cake raffle will be on March 21, time and venue will be announced.  WM Danilo "Boyet" G. Bernardo, Jr. (Beacon 213) then declared the Sportfest 2010 opened.

The first event was Basketball.  The Lodges already drew lots during the previous District Council meeting to determine their opponents.  The game was a knockout system.  The results are as follows:
Game 1
Davao Masonic Lodge # 149 - 38
Toril Lodge # 208 - 24
Game 2
Podomo Lodge # 294 - 41
Beacon Lodge # 213 - 39
Game 3
Digos Masonic Lodge # 198 - 44
Datu Bago Lodge # 197 - 24

Congratulations to the winning teams!!!  The next basketball games (Semi-finals and Finals) is tentatively scheduled on June 5, 2010, at RPV Countryclub, and the teams playing are Sarangani 50, Davao 149, Digos 198 and Podomo 294, and they will draw lots on that date to determine their opponents.

Our next event is Badminton, which will be held next Sunday, March 21 from 1pm to 7pm at Badminton World, Avanceña corner Mabini Streets.  There will be Mens Double and Mix events.  Bring your family to cheer!!!

All lodges, please be advised that it's "KKB" during game proper and lunch on opening day.  However, there will be light breakfast after the Fun Run courtesy of Podomo 294 - lugaw and boiled eggs.  Beacon 213 will also order 50 small packed lunches for children to allow us free use of the clubhouse.  Free flowing Green Iced Tea will also be served.  We are encouraged to bring ONLY bottled water and juice in tetra packs as this are the only drinks free of corkage.  See you all there!

The Fun Run will be around the perimeter area of Palos Verdes, and you can run or walk, whichever ever you wish.  There will be no registration fees, you just need to get a Race Number, which will entitle you to a raffle.  There will be prizes for ALL participants with Race Numbers!

Also, our daughters of Bethel No. 6 Job's Daughters International are preparing for their Annual Rally which will be held here on April 30 to May 2 at the Brokenshire Convention Center.  In this connection, they are selling cake raffle tickets to raise funds for this worthy undertaking.  They will be with us during our Sportfest, and I enjoin everyone to please support our daughters.  Let us also mark our calendars and attend their Annual Rally.

Keep tuned in for more updates!
