November 8 - Datu Bago Lodge No. 197 led the District to the Second Wave Sagip Kalikasan Tree Planting Project in New Loon, Mintal. The event was well attended by the brethren of the different Lodges of the District, sons and daughters of the DeMolays and Job’s, people from DENR and members of the Philippine National Police. We assembled at the Davao Masonic Center, and headed for the site at around 7:00AM.
When we got to the site, there were 300 narra seedlings waiting for us, all provided for by the DENR. We revisited the area where our District planted last time, and we replanted in some spot that needed to be. Around 9:30AM we have already planted all the seedlings, and we headed back to the Davao Masonic Center where we had a potluck brunch; each Lodge was assigned to bring food.
It was a such a beautiful morning, and we all had a great feeling of fulfillment knowing that we have contributed to the worldwide advocacy on tree planting and reforestation. Let us continue in our own backyard to do our part in taking care of our planet Earth, by planting trees, segregate and dispose of garbage properly, and minimize all kinds pollution. Let us always remember our Great Architect of the Universe who gave all these wonderful gifts for our use. Let us all take care of Earth for Him, for us, and for the generations to follow.
